Well, this morning I witnessed the end of an era - I finally (yes, I realize it's only been a couple of days, but I really would have liked to have gone to the midnight premiere) saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
It was absolutely wonderful, in my opinion, with fantastic direction that kept things moving extremely quickly, without leaving anything terribly important on the cutting room floor. There were many very tearful parts for me, which is to be expected for those who know how the story goes - I'll refrain from spoilers here... and the final shot made me tear up quite a bit, as well, just knowing that this magical journey is all over with. The acting was top-notch, and it's amazing to think how far the actors have come since being little kids, and how we've watched them grow up over the years.
A couple of flashes back to the first few movies were a tad jarring in this regard, in fact, as we saw a very young Daniel Radcliffe, and it's amazing to realize just how small he was when the movies began. I definitely recommend this movie to Harry Potter fans, but I'm sure the fans already have seen it, or are going to see it.
